Wine Advocate: A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec, the 2015 Clos Rene has a perfumed raspberry preserve and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, a mixture of red and black fruit with a very refined, pastille-like, spicy finish. This is a lovely Pomerol to enjoy over the next 10-15 years, certainly one of the best offerings from the sandier soils on the western sector of the appellation.
